White Swan High School is over 50 years old and needed a complete intercom, public address, and bell system solution. The existing system was over 25 years old and failing.

In the summer of 2023, the district started the replacement process and needed the new remedy to be in place by the start of the 2023/2024 school year. Timing was critical and the new system needed to use existing cabling and network switches.

The new paging and clock system is awesome. The Dimensional crew was very professional, knowledgeable, and adapted well to any situation that occurred. Mount Adams School District #209 is headquartered in White Swan, Washington. The district’s service area includes White Swan and Harrah.

The public school district resides on the Yakama Indian Reservation, a Native American reservation in Washington state of the federally recognized tribe known as the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation.

The district is home to Harrah Elementary School, Mount Adams Middle School, and White Swan High School.

Mount Adams School District’s mission is: “We promote authentic learning, embrace cultures, build trust, and value safety so each student is prepared for life.” The district’s vision is: “Each student graduates from Mount Adams School District prepared for a successful future.”

Solution

Upon learning about the upcoming project and the need for a very quick turnaround, Telecor channel partner, Dimensional Communications (DCI) quickly conducted site surveys to confirm that the High School’s network would support a fully Ethernet-based intercom and public address solution.

Telecor eSeries was installed as a fully supervised, endpoint system with no central headend server eliminating any single point of failure.

eSeries is distributed across the school’s network using existing POE switches and data drops to connect speakers and visual, scrolling displays in each classroom.The gym, band room, library, wood shop and auto shop locations included strobes with the speaker display units for additional visual notification in these noisy areas.

Results

Telecor eSeries ensures clear and concise communication throughout every indoor and outdoor area of White Swan High School.

eSeries includes easy on and off-site remote scheduling and administration and is fully integrated to the school’s existing IP phone system. Classroom speakers with textual displays ensure ADA compliance and strobes add additional visual notification in noisy areas.

In the future, Mount Adams hopes to add Telecor’s integrated ePanic mobile duress to White Swan High School.

This solution will leverage the existing eSeries infrastructure and provide a wearable panic button to the high school teachers and staff.
