Seattle Public Schools is introducing advanced safety systems to better protect students and staff. In a recent KIRO 7 News report by Linzi Sheldon, viewers saw how new technologies, including classroom alert buttons, district-wide lockdown management, digital hallway displays, updated intercoms, secure entry vestibules, and an anonymous tip-line app, are reshaping school security.

Parents, students, and school leaders expressed optimism about the upgrades, noting that these changes bring added peace of mind in a time when school safety is a top concern nationwide. Backed by a $57 million levy, the improvements will begin with nine schools this year and expand districtwide by 2028.
